Sunset Field, Minterne Magna - Fine Art Print

£45.00 - £75.00

2026

‘Some days feel like the world quietly beginning again.’

This piece was inspired by a walk through the fields surrounding Minterne Magna during early spring, on one of the first days where it truly felt as though winter was finally beginning to loosen its grip. The air carried a softness and warmth that had been absent for months, and every breath seemed to hold the promise of the coming summer.

Rhiannon and I had spent the day walking through the countryside, passing blankets of bluebells and the first signs of renewed life emerging across the landscape. This particular spot along the hill is somewhere we often stop together to sit quietly, watch the sunset, and talk about the future whilst looking out across the Dorset hills.

Created using watercolour, ink, and oil pastel, I wanted the piece to feel open, spacious, and full of light. The sweeping lines of the landscape and expansive sky became important in preserving the emotional atmosphere of the moment, the feeling of possibility, calm, and quiet optimism carried within the changing season.
