'A moment of stillness in ink and light — The Pagoda, Minterne Gardens, where I often come to paint, breathe, and listen.'

There’s a stillness in this place that I’ve never quite found anywhere else. The pagoda in Minterne Gardens has become something of a sanctuary for me — a space where I can sit, breathe, and listen to the soft movement of the trees and water around me.

When I painted this, I wanted to capture not just the structure itself, but the calm it carries. The ink lines feel almost like the rhythm of breath, and the soft washes of green and gold mirror that shifting quiet of sunlight through leaves.

It’s where I come to meditate, to draw, and to reconnect — with the world, with the work, and with myself.
