From the Studio

Greetings! I'm Shaun B. Keefe (or Shaun), a contemporary British artist working across expressive landscape, architectural, and abstract painting.

I work primarily with watercolour, ink, oil pastel, acrylic, and mixed media, and my paintings explore the emotional atmosphere held within landscapes, buildings, and memory. Rooted deeply in Dorset and the surrounding countryside and coastlines, my work is inspired by fleeting light, overlooked places, quiet roads, fading structures, and the deeply personal relationship between people and place.

Rather than documenting locations precisely, my work seeks to capture the feeling of a moment — the warmth of evening light across a street, the stillness of a countryside walk, the energy held within architecture, or the emotional residue attached to familiar places over time.

Working from my Dorset studio, I continue to build a growing body of work centred around atmosphere, emotional geography, and the quiet beauty hidden within everyday spaces.
