This was from a walk near Minterne House — one of those early evenings when the sky feels too big for the day. We’d wandered through the trees and up the hill, and suddenly, there it was: the whole sky pouring itself out in colour.

I remember just standing there, holding my breath. The light was fierce, defiant, alive. I wanted to capture that — not just what it looked like, but what it felt like. The sky didn’t sit still; it was streaking, shifting, swelling.

There’s something in me that responds to skies like this — they remind me how fleeting and grand everything is. I let the colour bleed and the line roam, trying to chase that brief, brilliant moment before it disappeared again.
