Just outside The Giant Inn stands this little red post box — so simple, yet so utterly British. I remember stopping that day, struck by how it glowed against the damp stone, proud and steadfast beneath the soft drizzle.

In the distance, that’s my wife and me — walking home after a quiet drink, the air thick with summer rain and the smell of wet earth. It’s one of those small, perfect moments that seem to linger longer than they should.

When I painted this, I wanted to hold onto that feeling — the warmth of belonging, the beauty of the ordinary, and the quiet romance of a life shared.
