This piece marks the first in a series exploring the dialogue of complementary colour — where contrast becomes harmony. Painted in vivid washes of cobalt and ochre, Sherborne Abbey stands between warmth and coolness, solidity and air, the sacred and the seen.

The Abbey’s spires and arches emerge through expressive linework — loose, deliberate, alive — their rhythm shaped by centuries of light and shadow. In exploring the interplay between blue and orange, the work captures not only architecture but energy: a balance between endurance and radiance.

It is both a study and a hymn — a moment of stillness where colour itself becomes faith.
