‘Some moments feel too alive to hold onto properly.’

This piece was created whilst my wife sat painting beside me, the first within a series of three abstract works painted in quick succession. The process became intensely instinctive and emotionally charged, driven less by conscious thought and more by movement, rhythm, connection, and the feeling of complete presence within the moment itself.

For me, this painting is about joy in its rawest form. Dance, laughter, passion, closeness, conversation, and the overwhelming energy that can exist when you are fully immersed in time with someone you love. I wanted the piece to feel unrestrained and physically alive, almost as though the emotion itself was pushing outward through the surface.

Created using acrylic, pastel, and glazed oil paint on canvas, I deliberately applied thick layers of paint throughout the process. The surface cracks and separate in places as the layers built upon one another, which became an important part of the work itself. Rather than considering these imperfections, they are intentional traces of intensity, movement, and emotional pressure held within the painting.

Printed as a high-quality giclée reproduction on superior Tintoretto Gesso art paper.

Prints are supplied mounted with backing board and protected in a clear sleeve. They are shipped flat in a rigid board-backed mailer.
